AlarmPoint Systems, Inc. is led by a team of industry veterans with experience in process automation, communication technologies and the design and adoption of best practices.
Troy McAlpin, CEO & Chairman
McAlpin brings experience with both large enterprises and small companies to his leadership role at AlarmPoint Systems. Prior to founding AlarmPoint, he served as the President & COO and COO & CFO of two successful start-ups where he oversaw all marketing, sales, development, M&A and financial aspects of the companies. Previously, McAlpin was a Strategic Management Consultant with AT&T Solutions and Andersen where he gained insight into enterprise priorities and structures. His expertise also includes process automation, strategic initiatives and corporate strategy. McAlpin's domain experience includes IT Service Management, IT Strategy and several vertical markets including high technology, banking and finance, consumer and retail industries. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University at Sacramento.

Rick Brown, Global VP of Sales
Brown brings over 20 years of senior sales experience in Enterprise Software to AlarmPoint. He has consistently been a top performing executive, both as VP of Sales at HP and Area Vice President responsible for the Western Region and Latin America at Mercury Interactive. Prior to Mercury, Brown was a top Sales Director and Senior Account Executive at Oracle and EMC. Brown's duties at AlarmPoint include global expansion and new market development for the company's software and service offerings. He is responsible for day-to-day management of AlarmPoint's sales and presales teams as well as maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington.
Adam Spearing, VP of EMEA Sales and Operations
Bringing unique leadership experience with numerous companies throughout Europe, Spearing has joined AlarmPoint to lead sales, operations and alliances in EMEA. Prior to joining AlarmPoint, Spearing was Vice President of Northern Europe for Opsware and also worked at Sun Microsystems turning around their UK software business in identity management, integration and java software. Spearing also spent three years in management roles at IBM strengthening areas of Tivoli, Websphere and Business Intelligence. In addition, Spearing was responsible for the sales of HP's OpenView and OpenCall software in the UK and Ireland and was one of HP's first leaders in systems and service management. Spearing will continue to incorporate his intricate understanding of the EMEA market in his work at AlarmPoint.
Desi DosSantos, VP of Product Strategy
Recognized as an industry pioneer in automation and communications solutions, DosSantos brings valuable expertise to his product development leadership role at AlarmPoint. During his 20-year tenure in the Enterprise Systems Management industry he successfully implemented large-scale automation initiatives at Bank of America, ROLM Communications, Siemens Business Communications, and IBM San Jose. DosSantos has led the effort in the areas of IT notification and response technologies and often speaks on the topic of Automation Initiatives in the areas of Computer Operations, Data Center Automation, Help Desk Operations, Systems Support, Database Administration, Network Operations and Data Center Layout and Design.
Reade Johnson, VP of Product Management
With extensive experience in large enterprise deployments and product roadmap planning, Johnson joined AlarmPoint in 2001 after five years of consulting. Johnson played a key role in the largest AlarmPoint implementations as Engineering Manager, Professional Services Manager and Systems Architect. Johnson also filled the position of Database Administrator and Systems Architect of the AlarmPoint Enterprise Product Suite, making him integral to the growth and development of the AlarmPoint product and team. Johnson holds Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada.
Tobias Dunn-Krahn, VP of Engineering
Dunn-Krahn joined AlarmPoint in 2005 after spending over six years in software development, team leadership, consulting, architecture, recruiting and training. Using his experience in distributed computing, scalability and optimization on the Java Platform to grow within AlarmPoint, he evolved from an individual contributor to VP of Engineering by proving his technical aptitude, leadership skills and work ethic. Dunn-Krahn graduated with honors from the University of Victoria with a bachelor’s degree in Combined Computer Science and Mathematics.
Simon Pius, VP of Finance and Controller
Pius joined AlarmPoint Systems in May 2006, bringing 15 years of software and technology experience in both accounting and analytical roles with small and medium-sized companies. He was most recently vice president and controller at Evant, Inc., a provider of application software for supply chain management, which was acquired by Manhattan Associates of Atlanta. From 1998 to 2000, Pius worked for publicly traded QRS Corporation; his last position was Director of Finance, Planning and Analysis. Prior to QRS, he served in various roles at Dun & Bradstreet Software and HCC, Inc. Pius earned a bachelor's degree in international management and an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University and is a certified management accountant.
Nick DeSimone, VP of Services and Support
DeSimone’s primary responsibilities span across the post-sales delivery organization, encompassing both Professional Services and Customer Support. He is focused on improving customer experience with AlarmPoint products and improving operational excellence. Prior to joining AlarmPoint, DeSimone spent almost four years as the Senior Manager of Spend Visibility at Ariba Software, where he help build their first on-demand business from the ground up. Additionally, he has held the position of Director of Support Operations at Vignette, and Director of Worldwide Support at OnDisplay where he helped drive the company to IPO. DeSimone holds a B.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Christel Mes, Director of Marketing
After Joining AlarmPoint in 2007, Mes has focused on corporate marketing functions, strategically positioning AlarmPoint’s brand, products, employees and customers into thought leaders. Mes plays a key role in building demand generation strategy, alliance, channel and customer relationships, corporate vision and execution as well as public relations. Prior to AlarmPoint, Mes has worked with technology startups in Silicon Valley with focus ranging from product marketing, business development, sales support, lead generation, social media and strategy planning. Mes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University.
